Nothing is worse than a sick child. It's normal to be worried and unsure of what is truly a cause for concern or just a minor illness. We have included a few resources here to help you navigate these difficult waters, and as always, our office staff and doctors are ready to help you with your questions at 616-534-9881. As pediatricians, our goal is help your kids get and stay healthy. There are a lot of factors that contribute to a healthy child, including eating well, exercising, minimizing stress, vaccinations, and basic accident prevention. Regular checkups, including all well baby visits and yearly exams from age 2 on are also important. At these visits, we will go over your child's development and growth, including body mass index, provide any vaccines that are necessary, as well as review their sleep and eating habits, and any behavioral or other concerns you may have. Well visits are a wonderful opportunity for us to teach kids about how to stay healthy. In addition to the information we may go over in the checkups, here are some worthwhile links for both kids and their parents. At your well child checkup, you will be given an information sheet with information and helpful hints specific to your child's age.
